Bea Person (*1988) is a Swedish artist based in Ronneby. She started her professional studies at HDK, The School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg. Later she completed her Bachelor in Fine Arts at KHIB, Bergen Academy of Art and Design, Norway. Bea’s projects are tipically profound investigations of her subjects of interest. She is captivated in tracing any topic’s history towards its origin – the moment when its initial part of meaning is manifested. From there, she follows up the path of knowledge, tracking its transfer along the history of human culture. Using language as her primary material, her investigations are often reified in video, sound and textworks. Bea’s constant ambition to discover the timeless qualities in her works can be found in multiple layers of information beyond the visual. Her work is always conceptual, she can’t trust her aesthetic taste alone. It is too fragile and ephemeral she says. Her artworks give access to certain aspects that were previously concealed or obscured but remain open questions. Questions that address the origins of human culture, the emergence of theories and their interpretation, the cognition and it’s disputable notion as facts, mythology, emotion, poetry and humanity’s strive for awareness and the meaning of life and existence. Bea Person is currently working as an independent artist in Sweden.
